Woolworths is a long established shop located in the High Street.
Number 1 in the UK Today, Woolies is the UK's number 1 retailer for both Entertainment and Confectionery products. Its 800 stores attract almost 1 million customers every day; sell over 20 million Easter eggs, 14 million books, 8,500 mobile phones a week; 25 million party poppers at Christmas, and pay out £ 1 million a week in lottery prizes.
In August 99, Woolworths went live on Open with 1 million subscribers. Initially 50 entertainment lines were offered. In November the range was extended, and Toys and Gifts were added to the service. Spring 2000 - Woolies launched Garden Furniture on Open…and in the Autumn there'll be a School Shop with all you need for the start of a new term. In September Woolworths will relaunch on Open…with a brand new look!
